🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Dydd Gwyl Dewi / St David’s Day 2020 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Our Criw Cymraeg organised the Eisteddfod this year. It was a very successful afternoon celebrating art, songs, poetry, music, handwriting, drama and craft.

We invited our families in to share the afternoon and to enjoy Cawl a Chân. The older Criw members made cawl cennin a thatws, leek and potato soup and the younger Criw members made Cacen Cymreig or Welsh Cakes, we sold these during the afternoon as part of our Criw Cymraeg enterprise. 🥣🍪🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

The children shared poems from the Urdd Eisteddfod, we were very proud of the competitors from the local round, and had some success with several getting through to the county round.

All children learned the poem for their age range and performed it as a class group. We had some beautiful art work inspired by Welsh artists- it was so popular that we framed it and sold it to parents! There was lots of Welsh songs and we finished the afternoon with the national anthem.

The Criw Cymraeg love a competition, the challenge for the Eisteddfod was anything inspired by daffodils 🌼.

We had models, pictures, planters, biscuits, cakes, fact files, posters, collages, windmills, delicate ornaments and needlework! It was amazing❤️
