Curriculum Learning

At the Point of Ayr Federation we follow Curriculum for Wales which is statutory as of September 2022. We teach a broad and balanced curriculum which offers a wide range of experiences and learning opportunities which develops the 6 AoLEs.

The six AoLEs are:

• Expressive Arts
• Health and Well-being
• Humanities
• Languages, Literacy and Communication
• Mathematics and Numeracy
• Science and Technology

At the Point of Ayr Federation we embed the 4 purposes in all that we do. The 4 purposes provide meaningful opportunities for learners to become:

• ambitious, capable learners ready to learn throughout their lives
• enterprising, creative contributors, ready to play a full part in life and work
• ethical, informed citizens of Wales and the world
• healthy, confident individuals, ready to lead fulfilling lives as valued members of society.

Tegi the Tern will provide the children with a visual representation of the 4 purposes and these will be visible all around the Federation.
